The Rest
The real Winchester & Western is a shortline that forms the Winchester-to-Oxmore segment, while the South Branch Valley (home of the Potomac Eagle scenic excursion) is another which forms the Trellisville-Paston-Sunnyvale segment.  The rest of the route is utterly fictional.

Below is an overall system map as the railroad is modeled, in 1971; N&W has already abandoned the north-south mainline through Richmond, and turned over a portion of track from Boyce to Culpeper to a county-owned venture called Culpeper General Transit.  CGT's twice weekly trains are operated by Southern Railway.  Not shown are the connections with B&O at Grafton and Trellisville, the major generators of through traffic.  For a more detailed tour of the line, click on the towns listed at the bottom.
