Four Dollars and Some Time

Posted on November 4th, 2018, by Michael Rountree

This was a little weekend project that started life as a $4.00 purchase at the recent train show, at Lakota West High School. It was obviously a cheap car even when it was first made, and most would turn aside from this train-set level of quality. But I figured that with a new paint job, replaced wheels, and other attention, I could have a new wood sheathed caboose to add to my roster.

So You Want To See My Caboose?

Posted on August 20th, 2011, by Mike

One of several reasons why I model 1971 rather than a more modern era is that I just love a good caboose. Who can resist that red bookend that completes the train? I am always on the lookout for unique caboose models, especially ones that are authentic for Norfolk & Western. Here are a few shots of some of the cabeese on my roster; I’ll add to this when I get more photos and hopefully more models.
